General PSD Information

Call for WPTE proposals was sent out
Calls for participation of all the other WPs are open and on the 30 September there will be an early starting Management Meeting (10.00) in order to do an initial assessment of the received proposals.
The call for a PWIE Deputy Project Leader is planned to be extended.
There are currently no candidates for the WPTE DTFL and that deadline may need to be extended as well. The TFLs confirmed they do agree with this with the new deadline to be potentially set maybe in early November. The GA is then to approve the selected candidate at their last meeting this year.
Regarding the working group on JT-60SA operations in OP2 and OP3 the terms of reference have been agreed by QST with their members selected. The first meeting of this working group will be 29 September. The members selected by Europe are: Emmanuel Joffrin, George Sips, Marco Wischmeier, Eva Belonohy
This group should be operational until the end of OP3

WPTE News

Review meetings to be held on 15-16 September
General Planning Meeting 4-6 November at EPFL with slot for European proposals to JT60-SA
Meeting last week regarding Tritium accounting at JET. The UKAEA participants include Joelle Mailloux and Anna Widdowson. It was stated that UKAEA is currently planning to conclude this work by March next year. Marco Wischmeier will contact Fulvio Militello on this issue. An operator paper on this topic is to be written by Alan Peacock.
The Project Board should focus on a brief summary of activities in 2025 and overall plans on 2026 tasks.
The General Management Meeting initially scheduled for next week has now been cancelled.

WPPWIE News

Communication with labs regarding the call.
Request that was received on usage of facilities to be forwarded to Marco Wischmeier.
Questions regarding the reimbursement rate can be asked on meeting on 18 September.

WPW7X news

Exchanges from different labs regarding the call including interest by EPFL, RFX and UKAEA
All deliverables reports for 2024 have been accepted.
3 Groups have been set up with following scopes: particle exhaust, middle divertor, tungsten metal divertor.
Stellarator DEMO Physics Gaps: A meeting on this topic was held in June. All reports should be completed by the end of October. They will serve as a starting point to write a paper which will be tentatively done by February 2026.
Meeting request on Theory and Modelling. Xavier Litaudon suggested to do it after receiving TSVVs call replies. The leadership of the other WPs indicated they are interested to meet with Xavier as well.
Interviews for new Head Of department for Digital Solutions with interviews next week. The selected candidate will be announced at next Bureau before the end of September with responsibilities to officially start on 1 January.
ETASC scientific board meetings: who will be observers is formally up to the new chairs.
