Discussion of the Pilot A Pedestal physics topics

Nicola Vianello:

1. Establish a connection with DIII-D to find L-mode dataset (spanning nu*_sep) for integrated modelling validation. This should provide additional confidence on TGLF-SAT2 capabilities for L-mode
2. Would be important to test SOLPS-ITER wide grid simulation to get an insight on the role of first wall fluxes but here we might be very limited in resources
3. Unfortunately I don’t have a smart idea to test it on H-mode perspective. From my personal opinion high-fidelity simulation should be run in peeling limited and ballooning limited pedestal, with similar fuelling source to check if any difference arises in terms of particle transport (ITG?). At the moment this is not planned
