Location

The JT-60SA International Fusion School will be hosted by the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) institute at its Naka site in Japan. The site is the location of the JT-60SA tokamak, the world's largest experimental fusion device in operation.

How to get there? 

The nearest airports are the international airports in Tokyo well served by intercontinental flights. From Tokyo please take the Japanese Railway (JR) trains to Katsuta in the Ibaraki prefecture. The train journey should take around 2hr 30min. 

For European participants: the timetable of Japanese trains can be found at https://world.jorudan.co.jp/mln/en/?sub_lang=nosub. The train tickets can only be bought once you arrive in Japan.

The JIFS school organizes accommodation in Katsuta for both European and Japanese students. Transportation between the accommodation and the QST institute will be provided.
