General PSD Information
Summary of status of grant Agreement deliverables, level 3 and Grant agreement deliverables in 2026-2027.
Report from General Assembly.
Xavier Litaudon confirmed as WP Leader from WP Theory and Modelling.
ETASC SB Board call is out for new members to be selected.
Discussion on general strategy: Writers group on future European pilot plan has been set up. Meetings on 23rd of June and 15 July.
There are 3 subgroups on: Pilot Plant (Zohm/Villone), Physics (Wischmeier/de Baar), Technology (Hesch/Elbaz-Uzan)
On the Physics side the main question is if ITER will provide TRL 7.
The European Commission strategy is being prepared and should provide a view into FP10.
At the General Assembly there was a presentation from Go4Fusion, which is essentially the documents distributed recently by PMU to the WP leaders as STRIA.
The resources earmarked for PPP even if are unused are not expected to come back to EUROfusion.
Calls for PPP are to be launched in mid 2026 and mid 2027.
Working group to define the structure of operating and exploiting JT-60SA is being set up.
George Sips has agreed to be part of this group.
QST has not agreed on the existence of this group but have commented it might be good for it to be set up.
QST have not put forward any names for this group yet.
The idea is for this to be an advisory group which should be as independent as possible. The ToR are being worked on.
ITPA/ITER has asked for nominations for chairs of two new topical groups related to engineering.
The idea is that by the end of September there will be a selection to be approved by the ITPA CC.
ITER wants with these new groups to access the experience of existing machines.
There was no information if the ITER Operations Networks is to continue.

AUG nearing end of 2025 operations
TCV is currently in vent.
WEST is in shutdown.
MAST-U both beams are now available.
Call for proposals to be launched in September.
General Planning Meeting to be held on week starting 3 November.

All deliverables report are accepted and recommended.
Almost all 2025 tasks are approved.
Colleagues are being reminded to reply to the 2026-2027 call.
Discussions ongoing to upgrade NBI and ECRH.
Next campaign will start in the middle of 2026 with the call for participation to be launched in the beginning of next year.
WPW7X 2 years call approach can also be a possibility to WPTE wherever it may apply.
Request for WPW7X call to be circulated also within WPTE.
