General PSD Information
- It was asked if there’s any feedback on the Project Board to be conveyed.
- Marcin indicated that WP STEL for 2025 and 2026 was not criticised, instead received comments on increasing collaboration with US and on lack of HELIAS reactor concept to guide the research.
- Nicola stated that there were very few questions by Project Board members.
- Sebastijan said that the information of what can be done or not at the PB came very late (Friday with the meeting starting on Monday).
- Marco wishes for the Project Board to be a place of open discussion
- The Experiment Team leader should represent EUROfusion interests while being committed to ensure the success of the JT-60SA project as such. This has been discussed with Valerio but further discussions and clarifications are required.
- There is an activity for a Call for Experimental Proposals for JT-60SA to be launched by EUROfusion.
- TE should continue with the plans for the meeting on JT-60SA on the 24 November.
- Involvement of UK in JT-60SA is to be clarified.
- It was requested that Marcin provides a brief job description for Deputy Project Leader. It is considered keeping the call open only for two weeks.
- WPTM cut the budget of 2027 (by ~20%) to be able to accommodate the needs in 2026. At a later date the plan is to make a request. the PIs are not yet informed and the information is pending approval by PMU.
- David Douai has been selected as the PWIE Deputy Project Leader
- The Department PMU contact person for support on IMS has been defined.
- In Physics DEMO will be considered to be any first of a kind device in a disclaimer added to the Annual Work Plan 2026-2027.
- Implementation Agreement of ITER MOU should not require that all the Research Units sign it.
- Activities linked to ITER tungsten coating of the first wall require coordination between Physics and Technology Departments.
- The implementation agreement should focus on communication of activities. These can only be what is in EUROfusion Grant Agreement but the alignment with ITER priorities is already well covered there. A proposal for an implementation agreement is being drafted by Alberto Loarte.
- We will need to think about FP10 in the next couple of years specifically with BEST and JT-60SA in mind.
- For BEST one idea is to do something similar to how PPPL is involved in W7X.
- Vito Konrad Zotta has been selected as Deputy TFL for WP TE
- Call for renewal of ITPA members is being prepared. It will have a relative short period for replies.

- Slides presented are available in Indico.
WPPWIE News
- Review meeting is to be held next week in Julich. Agenda to be circulated. A news item on it will be prepared.
- ITER relevant mirrors have been characterized in Julich. Shift of ~2 PM to 2026 for support of Basel University activities on this topic will be requested.
- International missions input from PWIE is to be sent to Richard with Marco in copy.

- New deputy Project leader for the WP.
- Workshop to be held in early December.
