Meeting ID: 810 1669 3398
Passcode: 102383

General:
•    The buffer fund issue will be discussed at the upcoming GA. Marco will monitor the outcome and report back on the reserve list situation.
•    Slides from the June 3, 2026 FP10 WG meeting (not for distribution) were presented and the current state of discussions summarized. The fusion strategy publication is delayed until after summer (September).
•    Ivan was nominated to represent the stellarator community; Fasoli and Zohm are involved in FoaK conceptual studies; coordination with F4E and FusionNow on complementarity is assigned to Fasoli, Villone, and Federici.
•    Work packages will be consulted for feedback as the WG progresses; the next WG meeting is approximately July 3rd.
•    Reported on a meeting with Sandor Zoletnik regarding a compiled list of beneficiaries interested in diagnostics activities with BEST.
•    Sandor contacted all beneficiaries to identify interest in diagnostics activities, either new or already ongoing bilaterally; the list is large and diverse. The list will be used to demonstrate to the European Commission that there is serious and broad interest among beneficiaries in engaging with BEST. The list may be presented to the Bureau or GA.
•    Nicola confirmed that TE received the list and the associated document from Sandor. Marco will forward the relevant email to ensure all parties are informed.
•    Marco apologized to Daniel for the delay in the WISER news item and committed to working on it himself that afternoon. The publication office has not acted on the news item; Marco will circulate an updated version by late afternoon and has written to Daniel with Marcin in CC.
•    Gloria proposed a news item on the TSVVH (Integrative Modeling Code Camp) ongoing that week in the UK on behalf of WPTM. Marco welcomed the proposal and suggested bookmarking it in the overall schedule to avoid repeated follow-up requests.
•    João reminded about the correct procedure and form for submissions to JT-60SA Assignment Form Procedure. Yevgen provided the required table, which was passed to admin; the simplified table format on SharePoint (link previously shared at the TCM) is the confirmed standard.
•    The decision to retain the simple version was confirmed by Marco, as Admin has always been satisfied with the joint table provided through João.
•    Yevgen suggested sharing his document with Carlo, as some individuals may appear on both lists. João to resend the SharePoint link and share Yevgen's document with Carlo [Done].
•    Marco described the preparation of a consolidated slide summarizing all JT-60SA-related reserve list requests. All JT-60SA reserve list requests are being compiled into a single lump-sum slide to be provided to Gianfranco, who will approach the Commission for additional funding if the reserve list budget is insufficient. João to prepare the consolidated JT-60SA reserve list slide [Done].
•    Request for presentations from yesterday’s to be uploaded to IDM [currently only TE is missing]

WPTE:
•    Three machines currently running: TCV, AUG, and WEST.
•    EPS rehearsals are ongoing; first rehearsal completed, second scheduled for Thursday morning.
•    Participants presenting at CFS boundary meetings have been instructed they may deliver talks but must not leave presentations stored in CFS; ITPEA access path remains available under the respective non-disclosure agreement.
•    Nicola proposed that all JET-related publications include a Zenodo archive with the list of signals used and the path to the corresponding analysis code; this was discussed with Duarte and Patrick from the publication office, who are supportive; Patrick confirmed an existing (not yet public) EUROfusion archive on Zenodo; Vito will coordinate with Patrick on metadata requirements. Marco supported the proposal and expressed hope it would extend beyond JET; acknowledged enforcement is currently only possible for JET data.

WPTM:
•    No major issues reported; activities proceeding as planned.
•    Team focused on understanding deliverable D27 (reduced scope), given the budget constraint.
•    TSVVH Integrated Modeling Code Camp ongoing in the UK; a few participants are financed by the WP, mostly UK-based given the concentration of HFPS support expertise there.
•    A coordination meeting with Xavier is planned with M Marin PI of TSVV-H and G Falchetto to prepare the meeting at ITER, they will attend,  given Xavier's unavailability to the latter.

WPSA:
•    A call for participation in the integrated commissioning has been opened publicly, without mentioning funding. WPSA may have two or three possible candidates.
•    IPP Greifswald has requested WPSA support for a two-week mission of a former QST expert (now at IPP Greifswald) who is one of two world experts in Tracer-Encapsulated Solid Pellets (TESPEL).

WPSTEL:
•    Call for participation in the next W7-X campaigns is open until July 3rd; resource assignment planned by end of July.
•    Campaign preparation in Greifswald is on schedule with no major obstacles.
•    Of approximately 150 proposals, 42 were identified as highly relevant to EUROfusion grant deliverables; 32 were already priority 1; 8 were not, and negotiation is ongoing — 6 resolved, 2 still in discussion.
•    Marco to raise the EUROfusion priority alignment issue at the W7-X program committee and with IPP leadership.
•    Confirmed that STEL has inherited the grant deliverable from PRD. This grant deliverable will be postponed pending Commission amendment approval.

WPPWIE
•    TOMAS (wall conditioning machine) has been out of service for two months due to an ICRH antenna failure; the issue has been identified and repair is underway; a shift of some machine days from 2026 to 2027 may be necessary depending on repair speed before the summer break. The goal was to have all three plasma initiation systems (ICRH, ECRH, glow discharge) operational simultaneously, which was not possible during the outage.
•    David held a post-mortem analysis meeting with UK colleagues, and Yari; transportation of materials from UK to Romania involved new paperwork causing delays; some containers are stuck in Belgian customs. The main part of materials can be transported more simply than via large containers due to lower activation levels; paperwork processes are being learned and should accelerate.
•    PSI paper review via the pinboard is progressing slowly; many participants are not following the required review timeline and submitting papers only days before the final deadline. A reminder will be sent under PWIE; noted the problem likely affects other work packages as well.
•    Marco noted the upcoming ITER MOU technical specifications meeting on July 6th; committed to contacting Alberto to ensure a dedicated agenda item on dust is included, as the current agenda is organized by subtopic and does not address this cross-departmental item; will copy Richard on the email.
•    Fusion for Energy has launched a call for groups capable of depositing tungsten on steel for ITER; ITER has already conducted pre-screening of eligible methods, creating some desynchronization with the F4E call. Sebastijan to monitor developments and report back as the program progresses.

AOB:
•    A systemic issue was raised by Marcin with how participants assign work packages when uploading to the pinboard. 80–90% of participants select the first option in the work package dropdown (2021–25 WP) rather than the correct current work package (Work Package Accelerator / STEL). Marcin lacks the capacity to individually contact all affected participants to correct the attribution.
•    Botond suggested placing a dot or similar character at the beginning of the correct option to make it appear first in the list. Marco observed that no complaints have been received from the publication office, suggesting they may not have noticed yet.
•    Botond to investigate whether the pinboard dropdown order can be adjusted to make the correct work package appear first.
