Valeria Perseo (IPP-Greifswald)
Description

3rd meeting to discuss the single proposal planning.

Zoom room 1

    • 13:00 13:15
Proposal: Influence of edge plasma drifts on SOL and divertor 15m
      Speaker: Marcin Jakubowski (IPP)

      Discussion of Marcin Jakuboswki's proposal
very similar to Matt's proposal --> join proposal possible
focus on the fluxes on the divertor
asymmetry in detachment observed in W7-AS, from the point of view of heat flux
error field correction necessary first for EJM and KJM
      priority not on low iota
very slow density ramp to identify the densities at which the biggest changes happen, then repeat with two steps in density
transition to detachment envisioned for high power

    • 13:15 13:30
Proposal: Effects of SOL drifts on sheathdrop and plasma potential 15m
      Speaker: Arun Pandey

      Discussion of Arun Pandey's proposal
Effect of drifts on sheathdrop and SOL currents
Focus on Langmuir probes, divertor and MPM (Mach probes required as well)
14 probes on the divertor in next campaign (more probes with respect to OP1.2 both towards pumping gap and towards baffles, probes only on horizontal target)
low density: possible that the SOL trasnport is in the sheath limited regime, indications from LP floating potential
intention: piggy back proposal but with requirements on density (2: low density/high density)
remember the importance of plasma current, maybe short experiments are best to avoid its influence

Ken's comment from TF point of view: proposals should not be flagged as piggy back from the start, it is important to highlights the requirements of each proposal. The TF leaders will group them in sessions, the decision on piggyback will come in the session organisation.
