General PSD Information

Call for new JT60-SA Experiment Team Leader to be prepared but no confirmation on timeline.
Call for experimental proposals – ongoing.
Call for WPSTEL Deputy Project Leader has been circulated with deadline on Monday 1 December.
ITER MOU – It is aimed for all relevant documents to be ready by end of 2025.
Call for ITPA Topical Group members - deadline is 28 November.
It was clarified that a topical group member at the end of their mandate needs to wait two years to apply again for the same position. This is not the case if someone is applying to a different Topical Group.
Pinboard – Following the Pinboard transition Marcin lost PL view and there appear to be issues with the allocations and views among the WPTE TFLs/DTFLs.
BEST Research Plan – News item is being prepared on the release event that took place on 24/11/2025. The official document will be made available by the end of this week.

WPTE News

3 tokamaks are currently running.
The deadline for the Call for Participation is 5 December.
Thera are no planned operations in January so the plan is for the selection to be done before Christmas with implementation in IMS in January.
WP TE experimental strategy presentations and discussions by RTC planned for 19-20 January, invitation soon.
Meeting on 24/11/25 on JT-60SA experimental proposals including a presentation on priorities.
INCO 2026 –Feedback to be sent to Richard by 1st of Dec following the internal call.
WPTE had previously a ~100k€ INCO but there was an overall cut of 25%. Therefore a proposal targeting a 80-90 k€ total will be put forward.
Joint TE-PWIE LID-QMS/LIBS meeting to take place in ENEA in December. It will be mostly JET oriented.
It would be good to know how many TSVV trainings there will be next year. Marco contacted Xavier and Denis; feedback desired.
The TSVV PIs have not yet received a formal communication.
The new Deputy Task Force Leader is being informally integrated.
Level 3 and grant agreement deliverables process and timeline for delivery is in place.
Modelling meetings with Japanese colleagues received a very good feedback from participants who went to Naka.

WPSA News

Plasma operations in 2026 are currently foreseen to be very limited and to start only in December 2026.
The planned campaign budget (WPTE) to be moved from 2026 to 2027 is yet to be defined.
It would facilitate if all the budget for experimental campaigns is in 2027 with the respective call for participation fully covering it.
It’s not yet confirmed if WPTE secondments will be possible because a budget to cover experimental exploitation has not yet been agreed.

WPW7X News

Deputy Project Leader to start beginning of January.
Reduce number of campaign deliverables reporting.
Research topics to be aligned with grant agreement deliverables.
W7-X program workshop next week. A meeting on the structure of next campaigns meeting will be organized at the beginning of next year.
The middle divertor is not sufficiently cooled which affect long pulse goals. Design is prepared for a better cooled middle divertor.
End or year reporting to be finished by January.

Any Other Business

Pinboard view for TE TFLs/DTFLs is not what was expected.
New items – TE has been published, BEST Research plan to be done soon.
WPTM – General ETASC meeting in February.
Next General PSD meeting on 18 December – Marcin and Arturo won’t be able to participate but there will still be a for W7-X a weekly meeting.
