General:

  • Discussion on pilot plant topic with the Commission which asked for us to be more specific on this.
  • Ahead of the GA there will be a meeting on Tuesday next week of the working group members.
  • TRL assessment: Compare Pilot A and B on how they would advance technological development.
  • No further progress on how 2021-2025 budget can be used on 2026-2027.
  • No further information on the framework for FP10. More information might be available after Core Management Meeting this afternoon.
  • More is also expected regarding FP10 after the GA. By the end of the year there should also be more details.
  • The Commissions stated that FP10 preparation work should wait for the publication of the EU policy.
  • The GA members stated that it’s preferable to start working on FP10 and then adapt as required.
  • Update after the GA also regarding FP10 at the next meeting in two weeks.
  • MoU significant changes only on the technology side. This document has now been signed in ITER.
  • Alberto idea on how to proceed is that there should be a meeting of the coordinators in May.
  • This first meeting should be in person.
  • The attendees of the following meeting in July should include the WPLs.
  • List of ITPEA European Leads was circulated.
  • Participation of BEST: is it of high priority for some topics?
  • BEST shouldn’t be evaluated in isolation but taking in consideration the other available devices.
  • For the follow up meeting on BEST the deputy TFLs/WPLs are to be invited.
  • BEST: team to be set up for the commissioning. There will be EUROfusion coordinators and ITER representatives involved.
  • Meeting on JT-60SA Missions (with F4E) – to understand boundary conditions.
  • JT-60SA priorities meeting – topic on fast participles for the carbon phase  needs to be more detailed as well as to discuss the first years of the W phase.
  • TM Meeting  - to clarify previous discussions. Date of the this meeting is to be changed.
  • WEST high fluency campaign news item to be prepared.
  • TCCV TBLD news item idea.
  • Yevgen to be nominated and a news item will be compiled using also less recent news.
  • PWIE is doing some tests on the ITER first wall. Suggestion to have this news publicized after the PSI and STAC on the 25 May.

 

WPTE:

  • TCVV and MAST-U are running
  • MAST-U had a two weeks extension and after it will go into the 2026-2027 shutdown.
  • There was an issue with one of the flywheels generators of AUG.
  • TRL assessment sent to STAC.
  • PSI: Rehearsal agenda has been fixed and is to be set to Sebastijan. The placeholders are already on the wiki.
  • Level 3 reports – Almost all ready with Jeronimo having proof read the JT-60SA relevant reports.

 

WPSTEL:

  • Review of Grant deliverable reports with the commission with no major issues
  • Request that when the commission contacts the PMU is informed
  • Almost all 2025 reports on IDM
  • Proposal that review status of reports be made available.
  • European Commission – European Synergy Grants: request for review

 

WPPWIE

  • Commission also contacted with another meeting scheduled.
  • Start kick off meetings including what is expected for next year. A PMP will be created in due course.
  • PSI2 – exposure of coatings for ITER. There is now one that will be probably the one selected.
  • LIBS system as in JET to be tested on tiles in lab.
  • Discussion on fuel retention in VNS

 

WPSA:

  • Presentation made with major highlights
  • Remote access for maintenance being discussed.

 

WPTM:

  • Periodic meetings being held.
  • Meeting with WPSTEL to be held.

 

AOB:

  • Zoom link of this meeting series to be changed
  • Several WPLs contacted for input to the WEST Governing Board presentation.
