1st meeting to discuss the single proposal planning.
Minutes of the meeting on proposal discussion within the SOL trasnport subgroup

Discussion on the introduction to the meeting
Flat-top requirements for diagnostics:
- 2D He beam => 1-2 s
- MPM => 0.5 s
- Alkali beam => no requirements (fast measurements), if Ti measurements available, expected time resolution of 100 ms
Flat-top also required for comparison to EMC3-Eirene (only steady-state conditions can be modelled)
Comment on flat-top request by Yu Gao: what about the bootstrap current evolution? The bootstrap current might change the transport conditions due to the change in iota. Possibility to deal with it:
- development (probably by Yu?) of a scenario to keep constant iota in the commissioning phase
- keep the plasma experiments relatively short to avoid strong changes (from OP1.2b, for standard configuration changes visible at around 5 kA)
- reproducing the effect of the small iota changes in the simulations as well
Comments on the proposal gouping:
- "Estimation of the perpendicular diffusion coefficient" can be merged to the proposal by Jim Terry in the SOL turbulence subgroup, but the study is also linked to the power exhaust subgroup (Yu should be involved)
- proposals on radiation stability and influence on SOL parameters by Daihong and Gabriele could be merged => more on this in the next meetings maybe presented by Felix. The effect of radiation on the SOL parameters could be touched in other groups too (spectroscopy? detachment?), even though the focus could be on line radiation and not total radiation

Discussion on proposal "Impact of NBI on SOL transport" by Valeria
Peter Poloskei should be included in the proposal and in the discussion for fast ions generated by the NBI and ending up in the SOL.
NBI effect was visible during last campaign in IR cameras and will be monitored in next campaign as well. A student from Eindoven (Marc ???) will look into the data from OP1.2b. Changes in the IR signal could still be related to fast ions or to change in the topology due to plasma current induced by NBI.

Discussion on proposal "Measurements of main ion flows (He plasmas)" by Valeria
Request of repetition of same plasma experiments to compare the main ion flow velocity measurement to a impurity flow velocity measurement directly. Need to identify an impurity that radiates close to where the He II radiation is for a proper comparison.
