Description

This meeting is a follow-up of our discussions at the

AMPMI 2024 (15-19 July 2024): Overview · Indico for IAEA Conferences

The need was identified to agree on the procedure and criteria of the accepting/rating/checking of the various datasets. This obviously involves other related questions like data formats, data mining at various places, data synchronisation between those etc. It was clear that it should involve EIRENE, YACORA and ERO modelling as well as ADAS and MCCC databases. Sure we can involve more colleagues (welcome to suggest more participants!..), but still have to keep focus. Good news is that IAEA is willing to support us including holding a special TM on this provided we come to something conclusive enough this year.

Aim: to unify the use of the A&M reaction data in plasma, agree on data assessment policies. I think it was a clear agreement not go deep into the PSI, unless it is clearly related to the processes in plasma like e.g. initial internal states after the surface release. We also rather leave the discussion regarding the experimental validation for the TM to follow early next year. However we need to overcome the confusion of responsibility due to multiple parties (EUROFusion, ITER, IAEA,…) involved yet by a very limited actual manpower available for the productive work.
