      2027 WPPWIE

      Duration: 15'+10'

      Topics:

For the next PB PWIE will request the conversion of 2 container for JET into resources for analysis and machine time post DT samples. I made the proposal last year, but it shall be proposed in Apri (after discussion with Marco last year)

PWIE will request 2 additional packages to recover the loss of two main areas: tritium studies and dust studies.. discussions with WPDES about the "joint" activities and desire to join forces. Lack of resources in this area.

PWIE will propose a further project dealing with MEMENTO/RE simulations. Try to recover the content of an EEG activity as the person left VR

Request budget for PWIE specific experiments under WPTE. PWIE understand, that there is not enough budget in TE, but it is for the PWIE community essential to have a "REAL" benchmark experiment for W migration, influx and retention in ITER-like configuration. This is only RELEVANT for AUG and requires specific time to get enough fluence. This will feed directly into the prediction if ITER.

Issues with ERG or EEG as the "selection team experts"/panel may not be aware of ITER priorities. Discuss desire of strategy for an additional finance scheme.

      Speaker: Sebastijan Brezinsek (FZJ)

FP10 outline and activities in 26-27 towards the future

      Duration: 20'+10'

      Topics:

BEST - What are the views on the required level of engagement?

Strategy for international collaboration (EU-US/EU-KR/EU-China) (here might also be EU-CA and EU-India)

Expected timeline of devices and information or /needs on the development of the smaller devices inside Europe (MAST-U, TCV, WEST, AUG, W7-X)

Issue of collaborating with private companies

How to keep competence and at the same time reinforce the operativity and the scientific output of the many subsystems in delivery to QST? The present status is that whatever subsystem has passed the acceptation phase (commissioning) is QST property and EU teams that developed it are treated as a normal user.

How to develop the support/interaction with DTT?

Required development of human resources and their profile.

Is there a need for a central physics unit at PMU to accelerate activities that are to be defined high priority and for which a higher funding rate would be required similar to DCT/WPDES as otherwise certain physics projects risk not to be completed in time ?

How do we want to join ITER experiments? Desire for discussion by PLs on: “ITER needs to be a success and the commission will see this. Our strategy?”

      Speaker: Marco Wischmeier (EUROfusion PMU)

WPTE: FP10 and activities in 26-27 towards the future

      Duration: 20'+10'

      Topics:

Analysis of the BEST research plan by the PLs/TFLs and recommendation of items that WP/TFLs consider essential and/or beneficial to the long term scientific programme, beyond FP9, in view of the available time lines for JT-60SA, DTT and ITER. What can we gain in BEST for the benefit of the EU programme and importantly the EU preparation for ITER exploitation?

      Long-term exploitation of JET data and participation of non EU/private partners: i.e. JET (D-T) data analysis strategy to be proposed and for discussion;

Long term strategy on documentation/reproducibility and Data Management Plan interaction (for JET and other TE devices)

Strategy for international collaboration (EU-US/EU-KR/EU-China) (here might also be EU-CA and EU-India) ; e.g. role of SPARC for progress in SSRLs  (even independently of any possibility for EUROfusion itself to collaborate with SPARC) ?

JT-60SA - issues to reach a W-compatible divertor plasma solution

Speakers: Emmanuelle Tsitrone (CEA), Dr Nicola Vianello (ENEA)
